82nd Airborne Division, Reenacted

One of our principal goals is to rigorously emulate and pay homage to the American Parachute Infantryman who engaged in combat during World War Two. We faithfully portray the Paratroopers of the 508th PIR and the Glider Infantry of the 325th GIR of the celebrated 82nd Airborne Division. Our aspirations and influences are drawn directly from personal accounts given by the World War Two Airborne Veterans, volumes of books, period manuals and some of the actual U.S. Army After-Action reports. We take great pride in telling their story with absolute accuracy. Our authenticity standards are set very high, but we believe that a failure on our part to muster up would dishonor those veterans who fought and died on the fields of conflict and to all of those who participate. Our group's main focus is in the participation in well organized, World War Two Tactical Battle Re-enactments which are historically specific to the engagements which the 508th and the 325th were involved in. Throughout the year we engage in battles which closely follow the original order of battle during the European Theater of Operations, starting in the spring of 1944 continuing to end of World War Two. Another one of our goals is, to faithfully generate and preserve the atmosphere which immerses you as an individual soldier situated in World War Two Europe. We strive to create the period specific ambiance during the battles, while in Garrison, and our public presentations. You might feel you have slipped back in time as you face our revered enemy units in combat, line up to march, visit with the fellas around the barracks, or as you listen to the proper period lingo used by the participants. Spend a tactical battle event weekend with us and you would insist to others afterwards that you had been sent back in time to help fight the good fight on the legendary battlefields of 1940s Europe . Our current members come from all walks of life, comparable to the men who volunteered for the Paratroops during World War Two. Many of our unit members have been involved with World War Two re-enacting for many years and they are able to make positive contributions in the all the aspects of organization, authenticity, and personal enjoyment of the events. We are also able to achieve a high standard of participation with the avid involvement of the other highly dedicated and motivated individuals in all the units of the Pacific Northwest Historical Group. So come on along. If you have an interest in this period of our world history, to participate in tactical battles, and just want to have a lot of fun. This is your chance to become a World War Two Paratrooper Re-enactor and jump into the fight.
